Salicylic Acid Chemical Peel
The Salicylic Acid Peel is a β-hydroxy acid (BHA) peel derived from the bark of Salix genus trees. Because salicylic acid is lipophilic, it can dissolve in oils and penetrate deeply into the pores—even when they are clogged with sebum. Once inside the follicle, it binds to hardened sebum and breaks it down, effectively clearing debris, excess oil and dead skin cells from both the skin’s surface and the deeper layers of the pores.
This makes it one of the most effective peels for acne-prone skin. By eliminating dead skin buildup, it helps prevent pore congestion, reduces blackheads and acne papules, and visibly shrinks enlarged pores. Thanks to its natural bactericidal properties, it reduces bacteria within the pores and helps prevent the development of new blemishes.
Beyond its acne-fighting benefits, Salicylic Acid also has excellent renewing and rejuvenating properties, helping to minimise scars and post-acne marks, smooth skin texture and brighten overall complexion, leaving the skin clearer, softer and more refined.
Duration: 45 Minutes
Cost: 50
Results:
The Salicylic Acid Peel promotes a dramatic clearing of acne lesions while improving overall skin clarity, texture and tone. It visibly reduces existing blemishes, minimises scars, evens pigmentation, and boosts skin radiance. With consistent treatments, it helps prevent new acne from forming, offering a smoother, brighter and more balanced complexion.
Treatment Overview
Ideal For
The Salicylic Acid Peel is highly effective for acne-prone, congested, combination, oily and very oily skin. It is especially beneficial for blackheads and blemishes, mild to severe acne, enlarged pores, moderate hyperpigmentation and sunspots, deep acne cysts, seborrhoeic skin, rosacea type II, and pseudofolliculitis (razor bumps). It is the peel of choice for those who struggle with persistent breakouts, pore congestion and uneven texture.
What's included
The treatment begins with a detailed skin assessment and a double cleanse to properly prepare the skin. A specialised pre-peel solution is then applied to ensure even penetration of the lactic acid, followed by a protective balm around the eyes, lips and sides of the nose for maximum safety.
Next, the salicylic acid solution is applied, with the strength and duration tailored to your skin’s needs and tolerance. You may feel a mild warmth or tingling that lasts only a few minutes before proceeding to the neutralisation step.
An advanced treatment serum is then applied and infused using ultrasonic technology for deeper absorption and enhanced results. A customised mask follows, tailored to your skin’s needs for hydration, nourishment and calming.
The treatment concludes with eye care, moisturiser, SPF (for morning appointments) and lip balm.
Before treatment
In the week prior to your treatment, increase your water intake and stop using exfoliating products such as AHAs, BHAs, Retinol and self-tanners. Avoid facial waxing, electrolysis or any depilatory method on the face.
For 48 hours before your peel, avoid sun exposure, saunas and high-intensity workouts to prevent overheating and sensitivity.
After Treatment
For 10 days following your peel, avoid sun exposure as much as possible and apply sunscreen daily. Do not wax, perform electrolysis or use any method of hair removal on the treated area. Avoid having another chemical peel until cleared to do so.
Keep your skin well moisturised. Post-treatment skincare is essential for optimal results, so a tailored aftercare routine will be recommended for you.
Avoid touching your face, peeling loose skin, or exfoliating with scrubs, sponges or towels. Avoid heavy makeup; if necessary, use mineral makeup. Refrain from activities that cause sweating, avoid steam rooms and saunas, keep hair dryers away from your face and avoid alcohol.
You don’t need to remember everything - you will receive a detailed email with aftercare instructions, tips and anything else you need for the following days.
Downtime
A light Salicylic Acid Peel generally has zero downtime. Stronger peels may cause temporary pinkness or tightness for a few hours, followed by mild flaking over the next few days. During the procedure, a mild tingling, itching or warming sensation may be experienced at all strengths.
Recommended Sessions
Most clients benefit from a series of 4 to 6 treatments, spaced two weeks apart, depending on age, skin condition, lifestyle and desired results.
For maintenance, lighter peels may be repeated monthly, while deeper peels can be repeated every 6–9 months.
Peel Strenght
Strength concentration ranges. During the consultation, I will advise you as to the intensity and number of treatments required for your needs.
