Commonly Asked Questions About Facials

Are your facials good for all genders?

Absolutely! Skin health is a human thing – not a gender thing, and Every Body is an inclusive, safe, and welcoming place for everyone with a gender-neutral service menu.

Your skin is unique, and so must be your facials. One size doesn’t fit all! I’ll get to know your skin with detailed analysis, listen to what you want to improve, and design just for you and in real-time a tailored treatment to fit your unique needs – regardless of your gender.

Why do you recommend just one monthly facial?

Based on the skin’s science and the life cycle of skin cells that lasts for about 28 days, I generally recommend that one monthly facial is enough for most people, though someone may benefit from fewer or more treatments depending on skin type, issues, and lifestyle.

What are the Skin Tools?

Skin Tools are the technologies and techniques I use to customize your treatment to you and your skin only. Each has its unique benefits, and with the correct combos, they give more powerful results. Depending on your skin needs, your facial will include a combination of Microdermabrasion, Hydrodermabrasion, Ultrasonic Skin Scrubber, Organic Enzyme Peel, Light Professional Peels, High Frequency, Oxygen Infusion, Sonophoresis, Nanoneedling, Radio Frequency, Microcurrent, Ultrasound, Gua Sha, Target Facial Massage, LED Light Therapy, and Cold Hammer Cryotherapy.

Can I choose my facial/skin tools?

One of the things I am proud of about Every Body is that there are no cookie-cutter treatments, so I don’t really offer the standard facial service menu. At Every Body, you choose how much time you have and the rest is on me, as I customize your facial in real-time, so that it meets your skin needs and goals. But, if you are interested in getting a specific skin tool or service, make sure to let me know, and I’ll evaluate if you are a good candidate for it!

What should I do before getting a facial?

Wait two weeks after receiving a laser treatment, fillers, botox, or a fake tan. Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds 7 days before your treatment. Stop using any scrubs, acids, or retinol products five days beforehand. For those with facial hair, don’t shave 2 -3 days leading up to your facial, and don’t wax for 5 days.

On the day of your facial, perform your normal skincare routine. Don’t do anything special, and come in with what your skin would normally look like. With or without makeup, it doesn’t matter, just do your normal morning routine and don’t alter it. Finally, be open with me about what treatments you’ve done, what your goals are, and what products you use at home. There is no shame in any answer and your honesty helps me design the best treatment for you.

What is the consultation form and do I have to fill one out?

The consultation form helps me plan your treatment, choose what products and skin tools to use or not use, what areas to focus on, etc. It also helps me provide you the appropriate aftercare advice, to maximize the benefits of your treatment.

It contains general and lifestyle information, medical history, and current skin routine questions. It gives me in-depth knowledge and an indication of how you’re currently looking after your skin, what could be causing certain concerns, and any medication I need to be aware of. In other words, it helps me build a profile for you and your safety to reference before and during your service.

As Consultation Forms contain important and sensitive information, are digital, encrypted, and stored on secure servers, and can only be accessed at any time by myself and you (the client). No data is shared with any third party.

How do I maintain my facial results and that post-facial glow?

I want you to take your skin to the next level, not simply bring it back to baseline. Creating and maintaining healthy skin is not a race, is a marathon and regular monthly facials are an essential part of a skincare journey. But how you treat your skin at home after a facial is equally important.

The first important step for maintaining your post-facial glow is to follow the Aftercare Instructions that I will provide you, which will depend on the facial you had. As a rule of thumb, you should keep your skin clean and don’t pick it up, use a clean pillowcase, don’t go straight to the gym, don’t shave, have wax or laser 48 – 72 hours after your facial, and avoid direct sunlight and always use an SPF 30 or higher.

The second important step is to focus on an efficient skin-care routine. Making good skincare a lasting habit won’t only help you keep that fresh-faced post-facial feeling longer, but will also get you healthier, more beautiful skin, that will boost your self-confidence! Worry not, as after your facial, I will guide you through whatever you want to learn, from building a routine to understanding your unique skin needs.

Can I get a facial after having botox, fillers, or other skin procedures?

I ask you to wait at least 14 days before getting a facial if you had botox, fillers, resurfacing laser, or laser hair removal.

Can I get a facial if I have false lashes or microbladed eyebrows?

Both false lashes and microbladed eyebrows can be affected by a facial. To be on the safe side book your facial at least 24 hours after your lash appointment and 6 weeks after your microblading session. Although it may be obvious that you have false lashes and/or microbladed eyebrows, it is still wise to let me know.

I have facial hair. Can I get a facial?

Facial hair is absolutely ok, and you don’t have to shave your beard off just for your facial. If you are a shaver, then it is a good idea to shave 2 – 3 days before your facial. If you are a waxer, plan ahead and don’t get a facial waxing for 5 days before your facial.

Can I get a facial if I have eczema?

Generally, as long as you don’t have active breakouts or any active flare-ups of eczema, sensitivity, or other skin issues, I’ll be able to proceed!

Can I get a facial if I have a cold sore?

If the scab has fully shed and the skin behind it has healed, yes you can. Otherwise, an active or healing cold sore can exacerbate or spread by some Skin Tools. In this case, I advise you to continue your regimen at home, until your skin is healed and ready for a facial.

Can I get a facial while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, I can provide you with a facial while pregnant or breastfeeding as I am trained on which ingredients and skin tools to avoid. But, since everybody is different, please speak to your doctor for their specific guidelines. When booking, make sure to include your doctor’s notes for which ingredients they may have advised you to steer clear of.
