8 Tips for a Super-Smooth Waxing Experience

Waxing is such a popular hair removal solution because it delivers soft, hair-free skin for many weeks! No matter whether you are a first-timer or a waxing pro, these 8 Pre-Waxing Tips will make your treatment go smooth and your skin even smoother!

1. Exfoliate

For smooth skin, exfoliate before and in between your waxing appointments. You can use a scrub, brush, mitt, or loofah. Depending on your skin type and the exfoliant you choose, you should exfoliate one to four times per week. This way, you remove dead skin cells that surround the hair follicles, helping loosen existing ingrown hairs. But to avoid irritation, don't exfoliate two days before and after your waxing.

2. Moisturize

Keep your skin moisturized, but don't coat your body with lotions, creams, or any of the sort on the day of your wax.

3. Let Your Hair Grow

For best results, the hair length should be 0.5 to 1.5 cm. Refrain from shaving in between your waxing appointments, as this will increase your risk of irritation and ingrown hairs.

4. Check the Contraindication

Make sure you are not on any medications or health issues that weaken the skin and may cause it to tear. Always be clear when completing your waxing intake form.

5. Say No to Coffee & Alcohol

Avoid consuming caffeine and alcohol on your waxing day, If you are extra sensitive to pain.

6. Wear Loose Cotton Clothes

Wear comfortable cotton-made clothing as you want to let freshly waxed skin breathe.

7. Skip the Tanning

Stay away from sunbathing, tanning beds, saunas, and hot tubs for up to 48 hours before your wax. If you had a fake tan you should wait for the full life of it (probably 5 to 6 days) before waxing, as the wax will not only remove your hair but also your brand new self/spray tan.

8. Be Regular

Book a return visit every four to six weeks to lessen the pain associated with hair removal. The more you wax now, the less you will need to wax in the future, as waxing reduces the strength of the hair follicle. Over time, hair regrowth will become sparser.

After having your skin clean and hair-free, you must give it some extra protection - especially immediately following your date with a waxing appointment. Learn the Do's and Don'ts of Post Wax that will save you from some annoying side effects which could ruin your perfect super-smooth wax.
