How to Prepare for Your Laser Hair Removal Service
Laser hair removal is one of the few hair removal methods whose permanent hair reduction results last for years and in many cases, forever. Whether you’re new to the world of hair removal or not, I want to reveal a few tips on how to prep for your upcoming session, that will give you the best laser experience.
1. Book your Appointment
First thing first! Every Body's easy-to-use online booking system allows you to make an appointment in just a few clicks. Select your service, date & time, and just like that, you’re all set!
Remember, for optimal results, I recommend booking your next laser appointment every 6-8 weeks, or as I consult you to.
2. Let your Hair Grow
Make sure your hair has had time to grow! I recommend 6-8 weeks after waxing, plucking, threading, or any hair removal method that pulls the hair from the root. Also, do not bleach the hair for 6 weeks before your treatment. Preserving the root and the pigment of the hair is imperative for the success of the laser treatment.
In the meantime, you can shave as much as you like!
3. Avoid Prolonged Sun Exposure
Don't sunbathe and don't go on sunbeds for 5 days before your laser treatment. You should also avoid applying any self-tanning products and tan enhancers in the two weeks leading up to your appointment.
I always recommend using medium to high-protection sun cream on the areas exposed to UV rays that are about to get a Laser Hair Removal Treatment.
4. Check the Contraindications
Make sure you’re not having any underlying health issues or are on any medications that may interfere with your treatment. You can find all the contraindications for laser hair removal here. If in doubt, please consult with your doctor.
The Day Before Your Treatment Session
1. Shave your Hair
Shave the area to be treated the day or night before your appointment. My laser doesn’t target the hair itself, but the melanin in the hair follicle.
By shaving the area you will prevent thermal injury to the surface of the skin as there won’t be hair on the surface to absorb the laser’s energy.
2. Stay Hydrated
Drink at least 1 liter of water the day before and the day of your treatment - as this will help your body to regulate its temperature.
On the day of your Laser Hair Removal Appointment
1. Keep your Skin Clean
Avoid applying any products on areas of treatment, including deodorant in the underarm area and keep your skin dry and clean before treatment.
2. Wear loose-fitting clothes
Wear loose-fitting clothes during your treatment day to avoid friction and skin irritation, as the hair follicles often retain heat from the laser for a few hours or days after the laser hair removal treatment.
3. Avoid the gym on the day of your laser appointment
Do not exercise before the treatment.
4. Purchase A Laser Pass To Save Time & Money
The ideal time frame between appointments is 4-6 weeks for laser? So why not go ahead and get a Laser Pass? You can save some serious money on any Laser Hair Removal Treatment by purchasing a Laser Pass of 7 sessions. Each Laser Pass comes with one FREE Laser Session! So why wait?
